Elegant pink hue with salmon reflections. The nose is expressive and complex with a floral touch (broom), notes of candied fruit (melon, mango), sweet spices (cinnamon). The palate is ripe, full with a touch of freshness on the attack (grapefruit), there are candied fruit and it ends with notes of sweet almonds. A beautiful structure reinforces the original and elegant character of this gastronomic rosé.

The 2019 vintage began with a warm and pleasant winter that lead to an early spring followed by a warm and very dry summer. This impeded the normal ripening of the grapes but with patience we waited for them to achieve optimal ripeness. Small yields but great potential.
40% Mourvèdre, 30% Grenache, 30% Syrah.
Plot by plot; 3 hour skin maceration at 12 ° C; pressing with rapid separation of press juices; stabulation at 4 ° C for one week; cold static settling; fermentation in barrels and ovoid vats; control of the fermentation temperature at 16 ° C; blockage of malolactic fermentation; aging on lees and batonnage for 6 months.
Scallops, pan-fried foie gras, sole meunière.

"Rich and almost lush with creamy, languid fruit, but the spice from the oak is fantastically dispersed through the palate, giving it a white-peppery bite."

Golden pink. Honeyed toasty oak with bruised apple aromas. Oaky character continues to dominate on the palate, well integrated with floral red berries and orange fruit balancing the honeyed toast. Excellent structure, using Mourvèdre (40%) and Syrah (30%) to good effect, with juicy acidity cutting through. Well executed and elegant.

What impresses me about this particular cuvée is that it hasn’t fallen into the trap that virtually all others do when chasing a top-flight rosé dream. Usually, when estates ‘push’ their wines to make ‘super-cuvées’ the wheels almost always fall off! In my experience, oak is often the biggest culprit with heavy-handed, badly selected barrels and overzealous winemakers getting over-excited about creating a grand and impactful wine. Oak inevitably tramples over all of the delicate rosé flavours which are coaxed from the red grape skins when making sophisticated rosé wines. Aurélia steps back from temptation and merely uses the oak to add volume and sheen. The result is a catwalk rosé, which sashays across the palate with a flirtatious swing of its hips and this is all of the excitement I need to get my pulse racing.

Very awkward bottle shape (fat bottom) and very heavy bottle. Pale golden coral colour. Tropical, papaya and orange-peel nose. Rich and almost lush with creamy, languid fruit, but the spice from the oak is fantastically dispersed through the palate, giving it a white-peppery bite. Real kerpow rosé! Serious stuff. No quaffing by the pool please, this deserves attention. Worthy of its price tag.

A luxury cuvée aged 10 months in wood (a combination of barrels and vats), the 2019 Aurelia is a pale, coppery rosé blended from 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah. Delicate suggestions of pencil shavings emerge on the nose, joined by hints of crushed stone and citrus zest, while the full-bodied palate delivers hints of vanilla, peach, melon and citrus flavors. Atypically powerful (14.5% alcohol), it's a big, rich wine with plenty of character and a long, flavorful finish.

Vivid orange-pink. Highly fragrant orange and strawberry scents are complemented by suggestions of lavender and white pepper. Juicy, seamless and focused on the palate, offering concentrated citrus fruit and red berry flavours and a suave touch of spicecake. Shows excellent clarity and thrust on a long, sappy finish that echoes the orange note.
